The PicknPack Story

Captain Tom started lobstering commercially in 1984 and introduced lobstering excursions in 1996. Sending fresh lobsters to friends and family became a frequent request, so Lucky Catch began shipping lobsters online in 2001.

We have a lobster tank room on Union Wharf, adjacent to Portland’s Old Port, about the size of a garage where our boat and others unload their catch. This is where we package lobsters to be shipped overnight around the U.S. keeping an emphasis on freshness and personal service. In addition to lobster we source the best local stews, chowders, shellfish and desserts to complete the perfect Maine treat.

Our Location

Our lobster tank room is located at 41 Union Wharf, only 150 yards from Commercial St. in Portland’s Old Port.  We’re on the ground floor of a gray building on the right-hand side (west side) of the Wharf. Look for the white door with a red Maine sticker.

Union Wharf is mixed use active working waterfront and you may encounter, fork lifts, tractor trailers, box trucks, etc.. The lobster boat berths on the perimeter of the wharf are private property and do not have safety railings.

Please be cautious of your surroundings and KEEP CHILDREN WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES! Because children do not frequent the wharf our friends who work here are not accustomed to watching out for them. Thank you for respecting our community.
